Business Cards Q&A

Straight answers to the questions customers ask before printing. Compare your options, prepare your artwork and plan your deadline with confidence.
1. Are business cards still worth printing if I have a website?
Yes, when you meet customers in person. A card gives someone your name and contact details without requiring an immediate search. Pair it with a useful website; use a QR code if it makes the next step easier.
2. What should I put on a business card?
Include your name, business name, role or service, phone number and website or email. Prioritize one clear way to contact you. A short description helps people remember what you do; avoid filling every corner.
3. What is the standard business card size in the U.S.?
Our business cards finish at 3.5 × 2 inches. Prepare artwork at 3.75 × 2.25 inches when adding 0.125-inch bleed on every side. Keep essential text and logos safely inside the trim.
4. Should I choose 14pt or 16pt business cards?
Both are available in our form. The point number describes thickness: 16pt is thicker than 14pt. Choose 14pt for a lighter card or 16pt for a more substantial feel; compare the calculated totals before deciding.
5. What is the difference between coated and uncoated cardstock?
Coated cardstock has a treated surface and is offered here with matte or gloss. Uncoated cardstock has a natural paper surface and uses the uncoated finish. Both paper types are available in 14pt and 16pt.
6. Is matte, gloss or uncoated better for business cards?
Matte gives coated cards a low-sheen appearance; gloss is reflective. Uncoated gives a natural paper feel. Match the finish to your design and how you use the card. The form pairs matte or gloss with coated stock and uncoated with uncoated stock.
7. How much do business cards cost in Miami?
Use our Business Cards order form for a total based on quantity, paper and thickness. It displays a per-card price too. Design, tax and delivery are separate and confirmed before payment; faster printing adds a fee.
8. How many business cards should a small business order?
Start with how many you expect to distribute before your details change. A 100- or 250-card run can suit a test; 500 or more can suit regular networking. Our form offers 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 2,500, 5,000, 7,500 and 10,000.
9. Can I print in full color on both sides?
Yes. Our listed business card printing includes full color on both sides and a digital proof. Use the back for a focused service message, appointment details or a QR code, while keeping the front easy to read.
10. Can I use Canva artwork or add a QR code?
You can submit exported artwork for review. A print-ready PDF with bleed is preferred. Test a QR code at its intended printed size on more than one phone, leave clear space around it and include a readable contact option as well.
11. What files do I need to upload for business card printing?
Upload separate front and back files in the order form. It accepts PDF, JPG, PNG or TIFF up to 25 MB per file. Uploads are optional if you need design help. We review the files and send a proof before printing.
12. Is business card design included, and will I see a proof?
A digital proof is included; design is quoted separately. Tell us if you need a new layout or logo work. Check names, phone numbers, spelling and QR destinations carefully. Printing begins only after proof approval.
13. How long does business card printing take, and is rush available?
Standard printing is approximately 8–10 business days after proof approval. The form also offers 5–7 business days for $10 extra or 1–2 business days for $25 extra per order. These are printing times, not delivery guarantees.
14. Can I order business cards locally in Miami or Bay Harbor Islands?
SlaterGraphics is based in Bay Harbor Islands and works with Miami-area customers. Order online or call or text 305-310-0107 to discuss your project. Confirm any collection or local handoff directly; the form does not reserve a pickup appointment.
15. Do you deliver business cards, and is shipping included?
Shipping is separate from printing. The form offers UPS Ground / Simple Rate, FedEx 2Day / One Rate, or arrangements made directly. Enter the full shipping address for a quote. Printing finishes first; transit time and cost are confirmed for your order and destination.
